http://www.bcferries.com/travel_planning/driving_instructions.html sailing to Duke Point just south of Nanaimo.

Once off the ferry at Duke Point head north, follow the signs towards and then past Nanaimo, Parkesville and Courtney. The major highway will not take you into these communities; you just want to skirt them. continue north following the signs towards Campbell River and Port Hardy.

You will probably want to stop in Campbell River to get fuel and a bite to eat. There is not much between Campbell River and Port Hardy. Then follow the signs to Port Hardy. A couple of Km's before Port Hardy you will come to campsite on the right and then cross a small bridge. As soon as you cross the bridge make a right hand turn onto Hardy Bay Road. Follow Hardy Bay road up and then down to the water, follow along the water past the Glen Lion Hotel, The Quarterdeck Hotel and IV's Quarterdeck Pub. Once past the pub make a right hand turn into the Fisherman's Dock parking lot. The Mamro will be moored on one of the floats.

If you miss Hardy Bay Road on the way into town, continue towards Port Hardy. Make a right hand turn at the four way stop and go down the hill between the service stations and the small mall with the Overwaitea store. Make a right turn at the four way stop by the Thunderbird Hotel. Follow this road back towards the water, Hardy Bay Road and the Fisherman's Dock.
